TWD - Cream scones

Do you love scones?  I think there is nothing better than scones with jam and cream and a cuppa to enjoy while reading a good book, wrapped in a warm blanket, while it blusters and blows outside. Sigh ....

This week's Tuesday with Dorie challenge was cream scones, chosen by Lynne of Cafe LynnyLu.  I brushed the top of my scones with milk to make them golden, but you don't have to.

My scones were served on this very glamorous plate from the cupboard at work slathered with apricot jam or lemon curd (depending on which ones you got).

Thanks to Lynne for this week's pick - she will have the recipe.  And check out a bunch of cream scones at the LYL section of the  TWD website.

I definitely love scones! I can't wait for the blustery weather to arrive here--only a few more months to go!

They look especially pretty with the glistening jam!

I'm up in the US and it is super hot right now, but those scones still look delicious. I bake gluten free and have found a great recipe on King Arthur Flour that I've used several times.

I've used their mini-scone pan and drizzles the bite sized scones with vanilla glaze. So yummy with my cuppa!

Lovely scones! Any scone is welcome in this house, and these were particularly tender and delicious.

A perfect day begins with a scone. My daughter is visiting from out of state and we are baking up a storm. Scones are soon to bake. We have a Summer Fruit Galette in the oven right now. It will be a great midnight snack. Cooking is easier when my 3 sweet grand babies are asleep! Have a great week!

These look great and remind me of one of the few things that my grandmother could actually cook - and she sometimes used up old cream for the fat component.

Scones are sort of a new thing for me. I never had them growing up. We always had biscuits. These are lovely.

ANd it is cold down your way - so perfect for a cuppa and scones. So I just turn my AC down really low and pretend.

Brush with milk. Good idea.
Thanks for coming by.

These were so good: the perfect canvas for any sort of topping! I loved the light, melt-in-your-mouth texture that these had.

Yum! And your header photo of macarons look great, too. I just made my first macarons ever last week--cocoa/ganache. So good.

Love scones. That and a cup of tea. Especially in this weather! It doesn't get much better. I like the idea of adding cream to the dough.

thought maybe this was the cream, flour and lemonade recipe so I had to look it up - sounds lovely though quite rich for scones if you are used to Aussie scones - and am sure the cream adds to the texture in a great way
